Who we are

Northern Tech LTD operates MathInstructor AI and is the data controller for the personal data described here. This means we decide how and why it is used. Contact us at support@northerntechltd.com.

What we collect and why

• Account details (name, email, login credentials, chosen curriculum level): to create and run your account. Legal basis: contract.
• Learning data (questions and photos you submit, lessons, quiz answers and scores, tutor chat): to provide lessons, track progress and recommend topics. Legal basis: contract.
• Subscription status (plan, renewal dates, Paddle customer reference): to give you Pro access. Legal basis: contract.
• Technical data (IP address, device and browser information, usage logs): for security, fraud prevention and fixing problems. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
• Support messages: to answer your questions. Legal basis: legitimate interests.

Card and payment details are collected by Paddle, not by us.

Who we share it with

• Service providers that host the app, store data, and run AI and voice generation, only to provide the service;
• Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, for selling the product, subscription management, payments, tax compliance and invoicing;
• Professional advisers such as lawyers and accountants;
• Authorities, where the law requires it.

We never sell your personal data.

International transfers

Some providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses to protect it.

How long we keep it

We keep account and learning data while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise it within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal or tax reasons.

Children

Learners under 13 should use MathInstructor AI with a parent or guardian's consent and supervision.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or move your data, object to our use of it, and withdraw consent at any time. Email support@northerntechltd.com and we'll reply within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls and per-account data isolation to protect your information.

Cookies

We only use essential storage needed to keep you signed in and remember your lessons. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can clear this storage in your browser settings, but you will be signed out.
